Summary of the impact assessment
[121 KB]
Commission staff working document with an impact assessment of "proposals aiming to modernise and reinforce the organisational framework for inland waterway transport in Europe". The analysis took place in the context of the "institutional" discussion which has been ongoing for several years. The impact assessment concludes that currently a combination of a stronger cooperation between existing organisations, an increased commitment of the European Commission in the international organisations and the accession of the European Community to the Danube Commission is the option with the highest value added.
