Project AWARE is a global movement of scuba divers protecting our ocean planet - one dive at a time. Focused on the critical issues of Sharks in Peril and Marine Debris, Project AWARE empowers thousands of divers in more than 180 countries to work together for a clean, healthy and abundant ocean planet. Project AWARE Foundation is a registered non-profit organization with offices in the Australia, United Kingdom and United States.

Shark and ray fisheries and monitoring and prevention of marine litter.

Sustainable Shark and Ray Fisheries - a precautionary, science based approach to managing shark populations including setting shark fishing limits, heeding scientific advise; protecting the most vulnerable shark species (those threatened with extinction), and implementation and enforcement of management and recovery plans for shark and ray species. Support for a sound and robust implementation of the Community Plan of action for sharks, a strengthened shark finning ban that supports "fins naturally attached", improved trade data and species data collection mechanisms.

Marine Litter Monitoring and Prevention - underwater data collection using citizen science to reduce the impacts of litter on marine life and improve waste management practices, including policy change at national and EU level necessary to prevent litter from entering the ocean in the first place.

CoralWatch, University of Queensland – Project AWARE partners with University of Queensland’s CoralWatch, a non-profit research organization, to involve divers in coral health monitoring. The aim of this research project is to provide information to scientists about coral bleaching and climate change worldwide.

Ocean Conservancy – Ocean Conservancy is a non-profit advocacy organization promoting healthy and diverse ocean ecosystems. Project AWARE partners with the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup Day to engage citizens in removing marine debris, identifying its sources and changing practices and behaviors that cause marine debris in the first place.
Ocean Film Festival - Film is at the heart of the International Ocean Film Festival and introduces some of the most inspirational, educational and entertaining ocean-themed films from independent film makers from the UK, Australia and across the globe.The vision of the festival is to inspire people to explore, respect, enjoy, and protect our oceans. The festival includes a unique selection of films of varying lengths and styles covering topics such as the oceanic environment, marine creatures, ocean related sports, coastal cultures and ocean lovers.

Member of Seas At Risk - a European association of non-governmental environmental organisations working to protect and restore the health of the marine environment of the European seas and the wider North East Atlantic.

International NGO member of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) - the world’s oldest and largest global environmental network. IUCN, home of the Red List of Threatened Species, is a democratic membership union with more than 1,000 government and NGO member organizations, and almost 11,000 volunteer scientists in more than 160 countries.

International NGO member of the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) – a partnership of governments, international organizations, and non-government organizations to preserve coral reefs and related ecosystems by implementing relevant international conventions and agreements. Project AWARE’s work with ICRI includes a particular focus on policy work related to the conservation of sharks and ray and reducing and preventing marine debris in coral reef environments.

Save Our Marine Life is a collaboration of individuals, business and conservation groups working together toprotect Australia’s unique marine life and save its sanctuaries.
