Attivitajiet
Inizjattivi ewlenin tal-UE s-sena l-oħra b'attivitajiet li jaqgħu fir-Reġistru għat-Trasparenza:
|
1. Resource Revolution - Rapidly growing demand for scarce global resources is leading to sharp and volatile increases in prices. Resource productivity will be one of the key determinants of economic success in the 21st century and necessitates the adoption of new business models and a range of well-designed policy measures to smooth the path towards a sustainable economy. 2. New Economy - A strong regulatory and fiscal framework that addresses market failures and works strategically to build domestic strengths will be a key driver for growth across the whole economy. The UK is losing momentum in a fiercely competitive global race and must assert leadership in the years ahead if we are to maximise the benefits of this global trend. 3. Financing the Future - Short-term thinking can damage value for businesses and investors. Targeted action to address financial barriers, such as reducing risk and mobilising finance at scale from institutional investors, will help to build a more competitive economy equipped for long-term success. 4. Skills for Success - Targeted action for the development of new technical and engineering skills in rapidly growing sectors is vital to ensure future economic success and domestic job creation. This must be combined with an increase in knowledge and leadership skills that will be required for all jobs in the transformation to a more sustainable economy. 5. Best Value Regulation - The regulatory framework must create long-term value in the economy by increasing competitiveness and early innovation. Reducing outdated and burdensome measures are welcome but this must not be at the expense of the vital role that regulation plays in correcting market failures, promoting fairness and protecting the environment. 6. Full Transparency - It is vital that organisations report sustainability measures in a transparent and accountable way, focusing on material impacts. Governments have an essential role to provide robust frameworks as many voluntary approaches have run their course.
