    Obiettivi e compiti

CBM is an international Christian development organisation, committed to improving the quality of life of persons with disabilities in the poorest countries of the world. Based on its Christian values and over 100 years of professional expertise, CBM addresses poverty as a cause, and a consequence of disability, and works in partnership to create a society for all.

Presence at EU level:
Since 2003, CBM is running an EU Liaison Office in Brussels. Its role and mandate is to
- Advocate for the inclusion of the rights of persons with disabilities in the policies and programmes of the EU
- Strengthen relationship with other development and human rights NGOs as well as with Disabled People Organisations (DPOs)that are working at European level.

CBM is a member of CONCORD, and plays an active role in many CONCORD working processes including Policy Forum, HRBA, and Cotonou Working group, as well as the working group on the 2014-2020 EU budgetary framework.

Our registration is based on the guidelines for transparent registration developed by the Civil Society Contact Group and ALTER-EU. You can find the guidelines on “http://www.act4europe.org

You have provided the following information on the subject of your organisation's main interest representation activities:

CBM focuses on making the EU's development and human rights policies and programs inclusive to persons with disabilities. In this broader context, we are currently working on
- The elections of the European Parliament and the new EU institutional arrangements
- The implementation of the new EU- joint programming.
- The implementation by the EU of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
- The EU's contribution to the achievement of the MDGs and post 2015 agenda.
- The implementation of the EU Strategy on Human Rights and Democracy.

We also work to ensure that all relevant EU institutions include the rights of persons with disabilities in all overarching development and human rights policies and programs.
