Mål och uppdrag
| Organisationens mål och uppdrag: |
VoteWatch CIC is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organisation. Its goal is to increase transparency in EU decision-making by making information on decision-making by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers available in a user-friendly format that can be easily accessed and digested by citizens, the media, NGOs, the private sector and anyone else interested in EU affairs. VoteWatch CIC believes that by making it easier for voters to follow the activities of the EU's legislative bodies, they will gain a better understanding of, and greater interest in, how EU politics affects their daily lives.

VoteWatch CIC operates a website (www.votewatch.eu) which tracks the voting records of Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and some of their other key activities, such as legislative reports, amendments, speeches in plenary and parliamentary questions, as well as the voting records of EU Member States in the Council of Ministers.
The website is used by the media, interest groups and non-governmental organisations, MEPs and their assistants, officials in national political parties and in the political groups in the European Parliament and governments from the EU and elsewhere.
The main stakeholders of the company are the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, the media, interest groups, academia and members of the general public interested in EU affairs. Meetings were held with all of these stakeholders in 2011-2012 to improve the quality of information provided on the website and to expand its user base.
A report on the decision-making activities of the European Parliament and (as of July 2012) the Council is published every six months. A debriefing on the Strasbourg plenary sessions of the European Parliament is held every month.
VoteWatch CIC's interest representation activities are aimed at securing greater transparency in EU decision-making.
