    Goals / remit

FFSA was created in 1937 from the merger of several unions; it has 231 corporate members that together represent 90% of the French insurance market. The insurance industry works alongside stakeholders, day in and day out, to provide the best solutions for our shared future.
The main objectives of the FFSA are to:
- Promote the French Insurance market and develop consumer prevention and related technical studies ;
- Represent the insurers' interests at the French and European levels ;
- Negotiate social agreements and conventions such as professional retirement’s schemes or professional training.

The Federation of French Insurers (FFSA) has a permanent office in Brussels. In Paris, FFSA employees deliver expertise when required for meetings and events in Brussels (eg. in the context of EU insurers Association, Insurance Europe or with representatives of the European institutions). The above absolute number of people includes the full-time employees of the Brussels-based office of the FFSA.
