The twin goals of the Quaker Council for European Affairs are: first, to engage Quakers and those in close sympathy with Quakers in Europe, in the political processes of the European institutions; and, second, to influence, where possible, the policies of the European institutions in line with the values and concerns of Quakers and those in close sympathy with Quakers in Europe, on matters relating to peace, human rights, economic justice, energy security, sustainability, democratic governance, and transparency.
We follow topics in human rights, peace, economic justice, democratic governance and sustainability. Specific current programme areas are hate crime, criminal justice, CSDP, drones and other arms, human rights and business, the role of the EU in Israel and Palestine, trade and funding with regard to conflict sensitivity and sustainability, natural resource use, and the circular economy.
We communicate via our blog, website, publications including a bimonthly newsletter, Facebook, and Twitter.
