Telecom Italia offers infrastructures and technological platforms on which voice and data become advanced telecommunications services and leading-edge ICT solutions and tools for development for the Group itself and for the entire nation.
Telecom Italia, TIM, Virgilio, MTV Italia, Olivetti are the Group’s main brands; they are well-known by consumers and are a guarantee of reliability and competence.
Being close to customers and technological innovation are the hallmarks of the Group, characterized by a streamlined organization that focuses on the quality of service, simple offers, attention to contact with customers and constant research activities in TILab laboratories.all this is also backed up by considerable investments in infrastructures: in 2009 alone, €3.5 billion were dedicated to network and IT platforms.

Telecom Italia’s domestic leadership - 16.1 million retail network connections, 7 million retail broadband accesses, 30.8 million mobile lines – is the result of an all-round telecommunications offer that is transforming traditional communication into the new digital communication: ubiquity, interactivity, a dynamic, participative dimension that today is available to all, through fixed and mobile lines, through the use of a wide range of devices: from mobile phones to telephones, from PCs to TVs, to smartphones and recent tablet computers or TV set-top decoders. The gateway to this new reality is provided by the availability of broadband, which Telecom Italia presently provides on 96.5 % of Italy’s territory through ADSL, and mobile broadband, whose users through TIM number 4.6 million.
For Italy’s wide entrepreneurial sector, from professionals to craftsmen, from small and medium businesses to major companies and the public sector, Telecom Italia can provide through and tailored solutions: a portfolio that, starting with convergent fixed-mobile toll plans, IP communication, high-speed connectivity, comprises a wide set of applications: data management and storage, security, video surveillance and management of power consumption. These offers are complemented by specialized solutions for specific sectors such as banking, healthcare and insurance.
In Brazil, a market with a great potential for growth, TIM Brasil confirms itself as one of the major players, with 41.1 million mobile lines and a 23.6% market share that is the country’s second largest by revenues. On the strength of its positioning as a mobile operator focused on innovation and quality of service, TIM Brasil can make the best use of the opportunities arising from the replacement of fixed lined by mobile ones, also leveraging the most innovative mobile handsets, as its leadership in 3G iPhone sales proves.
