Norges Lastebileier-Forbund, NLF (The Norwegian Haulier’s Association) represents some 4 000 goods transport companies and some 15 000 lorries/road-trains from all over Norway. The association is represented throughout Norway with 8 regional offices.
The association has a General assembly every 2 years. The General assembly is the association’s highest authority. Norges Lastebileier-Forbund is governed by its constitution, including a set of ethical rules.NLFs main objectives are to promote and develop goods transport on the road in a sustainable way and to safeguard the industry’s economic, professional and social interests.
For the moment focus is on preparing for the road transport package expected for 2016 with a focus on ensuring a fair and level playing for all operators within the EU.
The Norwegian Haulier’s Association uses its position as the leading Norwegian association of operators of road, rail and combined transport nationally and internationally to contribute to and assist in the shaping of the Norwegian and the European transport policy to ensure a sustainable future for its members.
The Norwegian Haulier’s Association involves itself in a reliable and trustworthy manner with other stakeholders and decision makers on a national level and on a European level.
The main areas of interest concern:
Road transport legislation such as rules for access to the market and to the profession, driving and rest time rules, working time, professional training, vehicles weights and dimensions, transport of life animals, energy taxation and road charging. Logistics initiatives promoting a sustainable and efficient transport and logistics system in Europe, including chairing the Commission working group on bottlenecks.
Environmental legislation relevant for transport relating to emission reductions, biofuel, energy efficiency, noise. Rail transport policy legislation relating to market access, environment and technical issues.
The Norwegian Haulier’s Association, is represented throughout Norway with 8 regional offices. The number engaged on EU related activities is small and those likely to fall within the scope of the Transparency Register we estimate to be around 5. Please note this is an approximate figure.
