As the trade association of Europe's manufacturers of building, automotive and solar-energy glass, Glass for Europe aims to:
- explain and promote the value and contribution of the glass industry and its products.

Glass for Europe's primary advocacy focus lies in the promotion of comprehensive strategies to support the uptake of energy efficiency technologies in the building and automotive sectors. In particular, it calls for:
- prioritizing the renovation of the existing building stock
- supporting the use of energy-efficient glass technologies
- providing economic and fiscal incentives to consumers
- introducing an energy labelling system for windows,
- incentivising the use of solar-control laminated safety glass in automotive and transport applications,
- etc.
Glass for Europe also promotes the highest safety and security standards at European level in building and transport glass. It wishes to safeguard a proper environment for the glass industry to invest in the EU and to market products thanks to sound environmental legislations and a robust and strong CE marking for glass products.

Glass for Europe works closely with FEVE, the European container glass federation, www.feve.org, as well as other glass sectors.
Glass for Europe is part of the Coalition for Energy Savings, is a campaign associate of the European Commission's Sustainable Energy Europe programme and a partner of the Build-Up platform on energy-efficient buildings.
Glass for Europe is also a member of CEPMC and CLEPA as glass manufacturers supply both the construction and automotive sectors.
