Royal Dutch Shell plc is incorporated in England and Wales, has its headquarters in The Hague and is listed on the London, Amsterdam and New York stock exchanges. Shell companies have operations in more than 110 countries with businesses including oil and gas exploration and production; production and marketing of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and Gas to Liquids (GtL); manufacturing, marketing and shipping of oil products and chemicals; and renewable energy projects.

The objectives of the Shell Group are to engage safely, efficiently, responsibly and profitably in crude oil, oil products, gas, petrochemicals and other selected businesses and to participate in the search for and development of other sources of energy to meet evolving customer needs and the world’s growing demand for energy.

The declared amount is the best estimate of costs associated with interest representation activity as defined in Section IV of the Interinstitutional Agreement between the European Parliament and the European Commission on the establishment of a transparency register for organisations and self-employed individuals engaged in EU policy-making and policy implementation, such as preparation and communication of position papers, meetings with policy-makers, organisation of and participation in policy events. This includes: operating costs of the EU Liaison office; salaries of staff, and travel expenses attributable to interest representation; total fees paid to the European industry associations and think tanks listed under the section “Networking”; and, fees paid to EU affairs consultancies.
