The declared amount is the best estimate of costs associated with interest representation activity as defined in Section III of the Interinstitutional Agreement between the European Parliament and the European Commission on the establishment of a transparency register for organisations and self-employed individuals engaged in EU policy-making and policy implementation, such as preparation and communication of position papers, meetings with policy-makers, organisation of and participation in policy events. This includes: operating costs of the EU Liaison office; salaries of staff, and travel expenses attributable to interest representation; total fees paid to the European industry associations and think tanks listed under the section “Membership and affiliation"; and, fees paid to EU affairs consultancies.
