The Global Alliance for Tax Justice-Europe represents all European members of the Tax Justice Network-Association International Sans But Lucratif (TJN-AISBL). TJN-AISB is a non-profit association registered under this name in Belgium since 2007.
In March 2013, the General Assembly of TJN-AISBL decided to change the name of the association into Global Alliance for Tax Justice. The change of names in the Belgian registry is still pending.

The Global Alliance for Tax Justice-Europe (GATJ-E)is an association of non-governmental organisations and individuals committed to promote tax justice and tax cooperation and to resist tax avoidance, tax evasion and harmful tax competition. It represents all European members of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice (registered in Belgium since 2007 under the name of Tax Justice Network-Association internationale sans but lucratif; TJN-AISBL).
GATJ-E is committed to a socially just, democratic and progressive system of taxation. It operates on a not-for-profit basis by bringing together organisations, civil society coalitions and individuals working towards these goals. It is a pluralistic, diversified, non-governmental, non-party and multilingual association. Local, regional and national organisations as well as tax justice campaigners, researchers, journalists, development specialists, trade unionists, concerned business people, tax professionals, politicians and public servants are members and supporters of the association.
