Method we used for our calculations: For the purpose of its registration, O-I has respected the Commission definition of lobbying, followed SEAP’s guidelines (http://www.seap.eu.org/linkdocs/seap-eti-guidelines10-2008.doc), and adopted the following approach to its registration:
We determined the total cost linked to direct lobbying the EU institutions calculating the following activities: contacting members or officials of the EU institutions; preparing, circulating and communicating information material or argumentation and position papers; organising events, meetings or promotional activities; activities that are part of formal consultations on legislative proposals and other open consultations We excluded from the calculation activities such as: compilation of policy audits, policy monitoring and intelligence gathering, media relations, internal meetings and reporting.
