Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
Mission statement The Nederlandse Vereniging van Banken (Dutch Banking Association) strives towards a strong, healthy and internationally competitive banking industry in the Netherlands. Representing the common interests of the banking sector, it strives towards the effective operation of market forces whilst taking into account the interests of its interlocutors.
Tasks There are many subjects that transcend the importance of individual banks. The diversity of interlocutors, the great European importance and the constantly changing landscape in which the banking industry operates require a combination of forces. This is why the Dutch Banking Association consults with the regulatory authorities, the Dutch government and many social organisations and interest groups. Collective bargaining on behalf of the banking sector is also part of the portfolio. To represent the banks’ interest at the European level, The Dutch Banking Association is a member of the Banking Federation of the European Union.
