The BVA is the national representative body for the veterinary profession with over 13,000 members. The BVA is a not for profit organisation and a registered company limited by guarantee. Its main functions are:
Developing and delivering policy affecting the profession
Promoting and protecting the profession in matters proposed by government and other external bodies
Provision of services to members.
The BVA's objectives are to:
Represent the profession and be the first source of informed opinion on veterinary issues for government, veterinary surgeons, the media and the public.
Be a leading provider of veterinary information
Provide services that are valued by members
Be fully engaged with our divisions
