The Bundesverband Deutscher Kapitalbeteiligungsgesellschaften – German Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (BVK) is a member-based non-profit trade association with over 300 full and associated members. It was founded in 1989 and is based in Berlin.
BVK represents the interests of the German private equity and venture capital industry.
BVK focuses on creating the best possible conditions for private equity and venture capital in Germany. A growing number of legislative decisions by the European Union will have an impact on the legal environment for private equity in Germany. Therefore, BVK does not only focus on improving the legal framework for private equity in Germany but also concentrates on the policy making process in Brussels. Thus, BVK represents the views of its members to EU institutions on a range of issues, communicates policy development in Brussels to BVK members and in particular highlights legislative actions which will have an impact on private equity in Germany.
BVK closely cooperates with the media, policymakers, universities and associations nationally and internationally, supports its members in communicating their business and promotes cooperation between different members as well as public understanding for the role of private equity firms.
BVK’s activities cover the whole range of private equity, from venture capital (seed and start- up capital), growth capital to buyouts.
