Gas Natural Fenosa is the largest integrated gas and electricity company in Spain and Latin America, leading the natural gas sales market in the Iberian Peninsula, and it is the biggest distributor of natural gas in Latin America. It is a company of reference for LNG/NG in the Atlantic and Mediterranean basins. The company operates in more than 25 countries, has about 20 million customers and has 15.4 GW of installed power. In Spain, Gas Natural Fenosa distributes and sells gas and electricity and is engaged in power generation, regasification and exploration activities. In France, Belgium and Luxembourg, it carries out gas sales activities, in Netherlands marketing of energy and in Italy distributes and sells natural gas and is undertaking two regasification projects. Its activity in Portugal includes gas and electricity sales, and it also has wind energy projects. In Latin America the Company distributes gas in Argentina and Brazil, it distributes electricity and gas in Colombia; and generates electricity and distributes gas in Mexico. Its activity in Puerto Rico centres on generating electricity and operating a regasification plant. The Company distributes electricity in Nicaragua and Moldavia, it generates and distributes electricity in Panama, and it participates in the telecommunications business in Guatemala. The Group also undertakes power generation activities in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and Kenya. In South Africa it has a coal mine, and in Morocco it is engaged in exploration activities and operates the gas pipeline between North Africa and Europe. Gas Natural Fenosa also has a share in two liquefaction plants, in Egypt and Oman. It has a portfolio of wind energy projects in Australia and has upstream projects in Angola. Gas Natural Fenosa also maintains commercial gas sales relations in a number of countries, including Algeria, where the Maghreb-Europe gas pipeline starts from. Following the acquisition of the electricity company Unión Fenosa in 2009, the third largest in the Spanish market, Gas Natural Fenosa has achieved its objective of integrating the gas and electricity businesses in a single company with extensive experience in the energy sector, capable of competing efficiently in markets subject to a process of increasing integration, globalisation and levels of competition.
