Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
Sandbag’s aim is to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere using the policy of emissions trading. More specifically we aim to:
Scrutinise: Casting light on how emissions trading is operating through accessible research and analysis.
Advocate for change: lobbying and campaigning for improvements to the system.
Engage and inform: providing a variety of ways for wider civil society/the public to be educated and become engaged with emissions trading.
With these broad aims in mind our specific objective is: ensure that the implementation of emissions trading policy in Europe is effective and delivers Europe’s required contribution to averting dangerous global climate change, and ensure that the UK plays it’s part in achieving this goal.
