Der ivSupra ist die Interessenvertretung deutscher Unternehmen, die auf dem Gebiet der Supraleitungstechnologie tätig sind. Ziel des Verbandes ist es, die öffentliche Wahrnehmung für die Supraleitungstechnologie zu verbessern und in Hinblick auf Anwendungen der Supraleitung als Informationsquelle und Ansprechpartner zur Verfügung zu stehen.
Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt der Arbeiten liegt dabei auf der Energietechnik. Der Verband erstellt und unterstützt dazu Studien, veranstaltet Seminare und leistet Öffentlichkeitsarbeit z.B. in Form von öffentlichen Informationsveranstaltungen und Pressemitteilungen. Der Verband informiert zudem politische Verantwortliche in Ministerien und im Parlament.
