Der AfW - Bundesverband Finanzdienstleistung e.V. ist die berufständische Interessenvertretung unabhängiger Finanzdienstleister in Deutschland.
Der AfW wurde 1992 gegründet. Heute schenken ihm ca. 30.000 freie Finanzdienstleister in rund 1.500 Mitgliedsunternehmen ihr Vertrauen. Er hat sich zu DEM Interessenverband der unabhängigen Finanzdienstleister in Deutschland entwickelt.
Der AfW ist in Sachen Finanzdienstleisterinteressen Meinungsführer und Ansprechpartner der Politik. Seine Initiativen, sowie seine stetig wachsende Mitgliederzahl sind Garant dafür, dass die Belange der freien Finanzdienstleister von den Politikern, Behörden und der Finanz- und Versicherungswirtschaft in die Entscheidungen einbezogen werden.

Der AfW verfolgt das Ziel, den Berufsstand eines unabhängigen Finanzdienstleisters zu schaffen. Dessen Renommee soll – wie in den angelsächsischen Ländern - mit dem der Rechtsanwälte und Steuerberater vergleichbar sein.
Nach Auffassung des AfW muss daher die Vereinheitlichung der gesetzlichen Anforderungen an den Finanzdienstleistungsvertrieb erreicht werden.
