| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
NCAS-Climate provides a core programme of fundamental science, technical support and training to enable world-class scientific research into all aspects of the global climate system. The NCAS-Climate directorate consists of two main units, based within departments at the universities of Reading and Cambridge in the UK, and a number of smaller groups at the universities of Exeter, Edinburgh, Leeds and Oxford, and ECMWF. The Reading unit focuses on physical aspects of the climate system whilst in Cambridge the main focus is on climate interactions involving the chemical composition of the atmosphere.
