Der Verband der Sparda-Banken e.V. mit Sitz in Frankfurt am Main ist Prüfungsverband im Sinne des Genossenschaftsge-setzes. Entsprechend hat er die Prüfung nach § 53 GenG sowie die Jahresabschlussprüfung und die aufsichtsrechtlichen Prüfungen nach KWG und WpHG bei seinen Mitgliedern durchzuführen. Er fungiert darüber hinaus als Stabsstelle der Gruppe der Sparda-Banken sowie als Sprachrohr nach außen. Er betreut die rechtlich und wirtschaftlich eigenständigen zwölf Sparda-Banken sowie die anderen Mitgliedsunternehmen in genossenschaftlichen, rechtlichen, steuerlichen, betriebswirtschaftlichen, organisatorischen und personellen Angelegenheiten.
Unter anderem nimmt der Verband die Aufgaben der Interes-senvertretung der Gruppe der Sparda-Banken in Abstimmung mit dem Bundesverband der Deutschen
Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken e.V. (BVR)wahr. Ziel der Lobbyingarbeit für die Gruppe der Sparda-Banken ist es, ihre sich aus dem besonderen Geschäftsmodell und der besonderen Interessenslage der Sparda-Banken ergebenden Forderungen an die Gesetzgebung zur Geltung zu bringen.
