1. To encourage the harmonization of different standards for the manufacture and use of pharmaceutical excipients that exist throughout the world.
2. To ensure and develop improved consumer safety in the manufacture and use of pharmaceutical excipients throughout the world.
3. To ensure and develop improved consumer safety in the manufacture and use of pharmaceutical excipients in a way that does not render the pharmaceutical products unsafe or ineffective.
4. To encourage the pharmaceutical profession and all national and international organisations operating in the field of pharmaceuticals or any related field to set up working groups (committees). To facilitate the recognition and introduction of new pharmaceutical excipients.
