TRMEW - The Polish Association for Small Hydropower Development is the oldest and the largest non-profit organisation related to the RES sector in Poland. It groups together small hydropower plants proprietors, operators and sympathizers as well as companies representing hydropower industry. TRMEW was founded in 1988 and at present it associates almost 500 members.
The activity of the organization concentrates on four areas: (1) representing SHP on the political arena by active participation in legislative processes, (2) creating a positive image and promotion of small hydropower sector, (3) integrating SHP branch by organizing branch meetings, conferences and trainings, (4) education in the area of small hydropower issues.

TRMEW is engaged both in nationwide and regional activities. Moreover, it collaborates with the Polish and the European scientific institutes, companies and sector organisations. Some examples of such organizations include the European Small Hydropower Association (ESHA), the Polish Hydropower Association (TEW) and the Polish Association of Renewable Energy (SEO). TRMEW is also a member of the Polish Coordination Board of RES (PRK OZE).
