A professional association of licensed zoo operators in the Czech Republic and Slovak Republic, the UCSZOO's decision-making authority is AGM. Managed by the President and the Council, the organisation's daily business is conducted by the Office. / Profesní sdružení provozovatelů zoologických zahrad s licencí v České republice a Slovenské republice. Statutárním orgánem je prezident, orgánem s rozhodující pravomocí je valná hromada. Mezi valnými hromadami organizaci řídí Rada UCSZOO. Plněním běžných úkolů je pověřena kancelář UCSZOO.

The UCSZOO's objective is assisting the member zoos in implementing their mission and overall development, especially by promoting mutual cooperation, sharing experience and raising awareness of the public as regards management and conservation of wild animals. In doing so, it also cooperates with governmental and non-governmental organisations and agencies, as well as corporations.
Cílem činnosti Unie je napomáhat zoologickým zahradám v uplatňování jejich poslání a v celkovém rozvoji, zvláště podporou vzájemné spolupráce, zpřístupňováním zkušeností a zvyšováním povědomí veřejnosti v oblasti chovu a ochrany volně žijících druhů zvířat. Dále spolupracuje s vládními i nevládními institucemi a orgány i podnikatelským sektorem.
