GeronTech operates through five main programmes: ageing-in-place ICT systems development and integration, generic and applied research, education, and standardisation. GeronTech, incorporated in 1998 under the Israeli law for non-profit associations, was founded as a partnership of two larger philanthropic agencies: JDC-Eshel (Israel) www.eshelnet.org.il and Metropolitan Jewish Health System (New York) www.mjhs.org . The founding partners (comprising the executive committee of the association) continue to fund GeronTech's core programmes and activities.
