Goals / remit of the organisation: Friends of Europe is an independent Brussels-based think-tank which offers a forum for lively and visible debate among EU and national policymakers, NGOs, business leaders, the media and civil society. Politically independent and not-for-profit, we aim to help bridge the understanding gap between EU policies and the EU’s citizens through reports, briefings and debates. By working with a wide range of partners in both the public and private sectors, Friends of Europe advances the debate on the issues and challenges facing Europe and its citizens.

Given the broad definition of the scope of the Transparency register, virtually all of Friends of Europe’s activities may be said to fall under it. Friends of Europe organises some 50 events and issues over 100 publications a year, details of all of which may be found on www.friendsofeurope.org.
Friends of Europe has developed special expertise in the areas of: Global Europe, Future of Europe, Greening Europe, Competitive Europe, Life Quality Europe and Security & Defence.
Our ground-breaking initiatives include the Development Policy Forum (DPF), the Greening Europe Forum (GEF), the Asia Programme, the Europe China Forum (中欧论坛) and Debating Europe. We have also co-initiated Europe's World, the only pan-European policy journal that offers policymakers and thought leaders across Europe a platform for new ideas and for forging consensus.

Friends of Europe is a member of Think-Tank Europe (TTE), a network established by the pan-European policy journal Europe’s World. This brings together 150+ think-tanks, universities, associations and NGOs from across the European continent and beyond.
Friends of Europe is also a member of the Brussels Think-Tank Dialogue.

Friends of Europe has a strong track record of successful partnerships with a range of public and private organisations. These partnerships enable Friends of Europe to cement its pan-European standing and to achieve its aim of improving communication between the EU and its citizens.
Friends of Europe’s sources of finance include business and industry, SMEs, trade associations, chambers of commerce, European and international organisations, diplomatic missions, regional offices, foundations and NGOs. All organisations that contribute over €5,000 a year are listed on our website www.friendsofeurope.org.
In addition to membership, Friends of Europe offers a number of partnership packages (project support), ranging from small agreements for a single debate or report to multi-annual agreements for a series of high-level activities.
Friends of Europe is an independent think-tank for EU policy analysis and debate. It is politically neutral, does not have party-political or national bias and does not represent any corporate or other interest. It only advocates a better understanding of the challenges facing Europe and its citizens. Friends of Europe therefore does not have or use any funds for lobbying.
