Planmäßige Beratung und Abstimmung in allen Aufgabenbereichen der Freien Wohlfahrtspflege, insbesondere bei neu auftretenden Fragen auf dem Gebiet der Sozial- und Jugendhilfe;
Pflege und Stärkung der sozialen Verantwortung in der Bevölkerung
Mitwirkung in der Gesetzgebung;
Vertretung der Belange der Freien Wohlfahrtspflege gegenüber der Europäischen Union und ihren Organen;
Wahrung der Stellung der Freien Wohlfahrtspflege in der Öffentlichkeit;
Zusammenarbeit in zentralen Angelegenheiten mit EU, Bund, Ländern und Kommunen und sonstigen Organen der öffentlichen Selbstverwaltung;
Zusammenarbeit der Wohlfahrtsverbände in der Europäischen Union;
Kontakte mit den Landesarbeitsgemeinschaften der Freien Wohlfahrtspflege;
