Activities
Main EU initiatives covered the year before by activities falling under the scope of the Transparency Register:
|
The focus of Herbalife’s government and regulatory affairs work with the EU institutions is legislation and regulation affecting Herbalife products or its distribution channel. As a leading global nutrition company, Herbalife offers its scientific, technical and regulatory affairs experience in weight management, dietary supplementation, and energy, fitness and sports nutrition to both industry and regulators as a contribution to the development of effective nutrition policy.
Herbalife also represents the interests of a network of hundreds of thousands of Europeans engaged in what can best be described as micro-enterprise, an engine of economic growth in the European Union. These independent distributors of Herbalife products are sometimes adversely affected by a lack of harmonisation of consumer information and consumer protection rules. Herbalife works with the European institutions and other stakeholders to effectively communicate the superior level of personal service, unrivalled product guarantees and excellent record of consumer protection offered by these individuals, as we seek to help them build their businesses.
