Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
To accompany, to serve and to plead the cause of refugees and migrants, in order to support them towards a fuller and more independent life. Advocating for refugees and migrants, JRS-E - studies in the field situations and emerging EU and national laws on asylum, - advocates at relevant stages of the legislative procedures for just asylum policies based on the dignity of the person, - brings the concerns of JRS workers in developing countries to the attention of the decisions makers in the EU.

In 2011 JRS-E worked on the following EU legislative files and projects/actions: LEGISLATIVE FILES: -Amended proposal Directive laying down minimum standards for reception asylum seekers (Recast) -Amended proposal for Directive on commun procedures granting and withdrawing international protection status (Recast) -Proposal Regulation determining Member State responsible examining application international protection lodged in one MS by third-country national or stateless person (Recast) -Proposal Regulation establishing Eu. Border Surveillance System (Eurosur) -Green Paper on right of family reunification third-country nationals living in EU -Regulation 1188/2011 amending Regulation 2007/2004 establishing Eu. Agency Management Operational Cooperation External Borders of the MS -Directive 2011/95/EU on standards for qualification of third-country nationals, etc. -Commission's Communication on Evaluation EU Readmission Agreements -Commission's Communication on enhanced intra-EU solidarity in the field of asylum, etc. PROJECTS CO-FINANCED BY EC: -Fundamental Rights and Citizenship (FRC Program): to promote ability to seek protection in Europe for persons who need it -DIASP Assessing Dublin Regulation's Impact (ERF Program): to gather information and assess impact od Dublin Ragulation on asylum seekers and advocate for better implementation standards
