Other contact information: The Palestinian organization “Les Enfants, le Jeu et l’Education (EJE)”, created during the second Intifada has a goal of helping children grow up in humanity. By intervening in the West Bank and Gaza in 10 animation centres, the organization is at the heart of the concerns of refugee children from Palestine. Through the many activities it offers, EJE promotes the personal development of each child to become autonomous, responsible individuals and future peacemakers.

Through a million and one different ways to play, EJE encourages children of the West Bank and Gaza to grow in humanity.

Goals / remit

Goals / remit of the organisation: EJE's mission scope is set up to promote children rights and to prevent psychosocial negative impact on children considering the stressful situation they live daily. Its projects enable children to play and to learn with enjoyment.
Specific goals are:

-Enhance working competencies in the field of education and childhood by developing specialized training
-Distribute documents, translations, studies and research papers on related to education and play
-Consolidate cooperation and exchange relations among institutions and organizations in play field
-Develop play approach and practices for expression, learning and creativity in Palestine
-Develop social and educational programs for children and youths in activities centers
-Create networking activities on children rights that include families and teachers and concerned persons working with children, executes financial decissions, prepares NGO yearly budget with secretary and presents it to board

Currently, we employ a Director, Program Manager, Accountant, Administrative Officer and 5 Program Coordinators who are supported by a number of local and international volunteers. In addition we employ 3 teachers for our Kindergarden and 6 teachers for our school. At the moment we have 5 volunteers working at the national office and in the field. We also have a manager for the Youth Hostel and 2 staffs working. We have a manager for the cooperative Peace Steps and 3 workers in the workshop.

We set up the following child centers in:

Gaza: Gaza City, Jabalia, Rafah, Maghazi & a Play Library in the Khan-Younis Camp
West Bank: Bethlehem (Al Aroub camp), Ramallah (Jelazone Refugee Camp, Der Amar Camp), Jericho (Aqabat Jabr Camp), Jeruslam (Shu’fat Camp)

In addition we set up a Pre-school, “Petit Prince” in Bethlehem that exist since 2009. In 2011 we opened a guest house as well.
