    Goals / remit

Energy UK is the trade association for the UK energy industry. It represents over 80 members made up of electricity generators and gas and electricity suppliers of all kinds and sizes as well as other businesses operating in the energy industry. Together our members generate more than 90 per cent of the UK’s total electricity output, supplying more than 26 million homes and investing in 2013 more than £13 billion in the British economy.

Energy UK's core activities are representing and informing its members of key developments within the energy sector. The Association works closely with the UK government and regulators and with the EU institutions, to improve understanding of the industry and pursue the best possible climate for investment. Energy UK's key objective is promoting stable, clear policy frameworks in which companies are able to make long-term, high capital investments in energy infrastructure.
