Goals / remit

Goals / remit of the organisation: The German Renewable Energy Federation (BEE) is the umbrella organization of the renewable energy industry in Germany. It was founded in 1991 for the purpose of improving the regulatory and legal framework and of promoting a radical shift to the use of energy from solely renewable sources in all sectors: electricity generation, heating and cooling, and transport.
The Federation comprises 25 associations of the hydro power, wind energy, solar energy, biomass, geothermal and ambient energy industry, totaling more than 30,000 individual members and companies.
Our activities address politicians, business leaders, the media and the broad public. BEE’s primary objective is to develop policy by providing input to the relevant stakeholders. Other services include expert studies, thematic working groups, policy projects, conferences and workshops, expert hearings, networking possibilities, position papers and many more.
