The Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU (FACE) is an international, non-profit making, non-governmental organisation that acts in the interests of over 7 million European hunters since its founding in 1977. From its headquarters in the heart of Brussels, Belgium, FACE represents its 36 members that are national hunting organisations within the Member States of the European Union and other Council of Europe countries. FACE has been a member of the World Conservation Union (IUCN) since 1987, and more recently of Wetlands International.
FACE undertakes the following key objectives:
Promoting hunting in accordance with the principles of sustainable use of natural resources.
Informing decision makers, the media and the public on issues covering two key principles, namely sustainable hunting and biodiversity conservation, by raising awareness on initiatives that aim to promote these principles.
Advocating the collective interests of its members at the level of European and international institutions so that the interests of hunters are taken into account in relation to hunting, wildlife management, nature conservation, firearms, animal health, game meat, etc.

Developing position papers and strategies on various topics (e.g. Animal Welfare, CAP Reform etc).
Raising awareness and informing members on certain EU policy & legislative developments.
Represent and promote the principles of sustainable hunting in the EU institutions.
Provision of Secretariat services to the European Parliament Intergroup “Sustainable Hunting, Biodiversity and Countryside Activities”.
Represent FACE and our members at relevant international fora (e.g. CITES, AEWA, CMS, CBD etc. to which the EU subscribes).
Coordinating member responses to EU consultations policies.
Participate in relevant EU and national meetings, expert groups and other relevant stakeholder platforms.
Promotion of multi stakeholder communication (e.g. the Agreement between BirdLife International and FACE on Directive 79/409/EEC).

FACE is well represented at international fora, by being member of IUCN and Wetlands International; and being observer to AEWA (Technical Committee, Standing Committee and Meeting of Parties), the Bern Convention, CMS and CITES amongst others.
FACE is also very well represented in the European Parliament, particularly through serving as the Secretariat to the Parliament Intergroup on Sustainable Hunting, Biodiversity and Countryside Activities. FACE also maintains strong links with the Council, through a number of key contacts
