The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) is one of the largest and most influential trade associations in the UK. It supports the interests of the UK automotive industry at home and abroad, promoting a united position to government, stakeholders and the media.
SMMT represents the interests of the UK automotive industry through the membership of companies involved in design, concept, manufacture, sale, after sale, disposal and recycling of motor vehicles, components and accessories.
SMMT engages with policy-makers, is involved with policy implementation at UK and EU level, and represents the industry in Westminster, Whitehall and Brussels.
