The object of the association is to promote research and development (‘R&D’) and innovation in the field of nanoelectronics in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the European industry.

| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
The mission of AENEAS is to :
- represent R&D performers in the Joint Undertaking.This part of its mission will therefore consist in: co-establishing and participating in a Joint Undertaking to implement a Joint Technology Initiative in the field of Nanoelectronics.
- looking after the interest of the respective R&D actors in the Joint Undertaking by establishing the Industry Board within the Joint Undertaking.
- gathering and contributing the funds necessary for the operation and organisation of the association, Joint Technology Initiative and the Joint Undertaking.
To adopt and continue the activities of the European Technology Platform ENIAC by:
- promoting R&D and innovation in the field of Nanoelectronics, in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the European Industry
- stimulating and coordinating actions to implement the Strategic Research Agenda of ENIAC developing and keeping up to date the Strategic Research Agenda
- advising on all structural and regulatory matters relevant to create and maintain a climate in Europe favorable to education, research, development and innovation in the field of Nanoelectronics and to the economic growth of the corresponding sectors of industry.
