RIWA is an Association of River Waterworks in The Netherlands and Belgium. RIWA has 12 member water companies, which use the water of the Rhine, the Meuse and the Schelde as a source for the production of drinking water. RIWA has three divisions:

RIWA aims to achieve a good waterquality in the rivers Meuse Rhine and Schelde by preventing harmful substances from entering the river. The quality has to be of such high quality that a natural purification is sufficient to produce perfect drinking water from it.
