Goals / remit
| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
The German Renewable Energy Federation BEE (Bundesverband Erneuerbare Energie e.V.) is the umbrella organization of the associations for renewable energy in Germany.
BEE was founded in 1991. 25 associations representing the water power, wind energy, biomass, solar energy and geothermal energy industry are currently members of the federation, with a total of over 30,000 individual members and companies.
The long-term goal of BEE is the complete conversion to the use of renewable energy. Therefore the statutory tasks of BEE include the improvement of basic legal conditions for renewable energy, working for the priority of renewable energy over other energy sources and the coordination of individual activities of the associations on the political and public stage.
BEE arranges consultations with political groups, with authorities, with specialised institutes and with other organizations. It convenes expert hearings, commissions studies, compiles response statements to legislative projects and promotes awareness of renewable energy through the media.
