Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE) was established in 1999. It is the European organisation representing companies of Japanese parentage operating in Europe.
Mission The mission of JBCE is to contribute to European Public Policy. JBCE membership currently consists of around 60 multinational companies and covers a wide range of industry sectors, including air-conditioning, automotive, chemicals, consumer electronics, engineering, industrial machinery, information and communication technology, medical equipment, photo and imaging equipment.
JBCE takes an active role in helping European businesses and European authorities to improve their perception of Japanese companies and of their interests and concerns. It also works to promote its members’ views on the public policy issues which will shape the years to come.

| Goals / remit of the organisation: |
JBCE is an international non-profit organization named “Japan Business Council in Europe”.
Our purpose is to represent the Japanese business community in Europe in connection with important matters of European or other public policy, as well as to contribute to the formulation of European or other public policy.
In this respect, we acquire information about European public policy, analyze it and legislative developments of interest to Japanese companies based or having activities in the European Union, and express their common views on newly proposed EU laws and regulations.
We also prepare position papers on subjects of EU public policy and legislation of particular interest to its members, make known its position from European public institutions such as the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of Ministers, etc.
