Polish Organisation of Oil Industry and Trade (POPiHN) was established in 1995 (founding members). The main objective of the Organisation is to create a platform for cooperation between fuel corporations operating in the Polish market. The following companies are members of POPiHN: BP, Fuchs Oil, Grupa Lotos, Lukoil Polska, Neste,OLPP, PERN "Przyjaźń", PKN Orlen, Shell, Slovnaft, Statoil, TanQuid Polska, Total.
POPiHN conducts its operations on the basis of the Law on Employer Organisations of 23 May, 1991 (J. L. 55, item 235). POPiHN operations are governed by the Charter and the Code of Ethics adopted in 1998. Polish Organisation of Oil Industry and Trade is an association representing the interests of its members - oil companies operating in Poland; the organisation is open to any and all oil sector companies accepting its objectives and Charter irrespective of the origin of the equity capitals.

One of the most important objectives of POPiHN is to ensure balanced development of the competitive fuel market in Poland by inter alia acting towards introduction of business principles in keeping with the EU legislation and equal treatment of all Polish fuel market players. POPiHN has been focusing on coordinating cooperation between member companies to facilitate the highest product and service quality in order to create a positive public image of member companies by coordinating and supporting responsible business activities. POPiHN is also looking towards initiatives to reduce underground economy in the fuel market in Poland.
