Goals / remit

Goals / remit of the organisation: 1-The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra (FMUC) considers teaching, scientific research and technological innovation main pillars of its activity.
2-The FMUC primarily aims at training graduate and postgraduate education in health and biomedical sciences, including through undergraduate, master's and doctoral postdoctoral programs, courses, non-degree academic and other activities of specialization and learning.
3- The FMUC encourages and emphasizes scientific research and development technology in the fields of medicine, dentistry, other areas of biomedicine and health sciences areas.
4- The FMUC fosters the creation, transmission and dissemination of science and culture to the medical community in general and to their students in particular.
5- The FMUC promotes providing differentiated services to the community in health and related fields.
6- The FMUC promotes inter-agency cooperation as a precondition for progress
and excellence, particularly through consortia and other agreements with the aim of completing academic courses and other activities relevant to the health sector.
