We give the EU Institutions – European Commission, European Parliaments, and Council of the EU – and their stakeholders access to a full service research agency. Our methods range from face-to-face surveys to online data collection, from qualitative research and evaluations to analysis of some of Europe’s most complex datasets.

Our research covers a wide range of social policy areas, all relevant to Horizon 2020. Our work in Europe has already tackled some of the most pressing issues such as online grooming and measuring levels of environmental concern throughout the region.

We understand that international cooperation is of the utmost importance to Horizon 2020 and we’ve developed relationships with institutions, academics and consultancies across Europe.

Main EU initiatives covered the year before by activities falling under the scope of the Transparency Register:

NatCen Social Research conducts the full range of social research services, including bespoke evaluations (both process and impact), large scale quantitative surveys, and smaller ad hoc studies that answer specific questions. We carry out all types of research (quantitative, qualitative, ethnographic, biomedical, secondary analysis) and we make use of a range of modes (face to face, telephone, self-completion, web, mobile). Our surveys tend to use computerised data collection methods, but we also use paper based diaries or self completions where these best fit the needs of respondents. We interview a wide range of people – from representative samples of the population to specific types of people (e.g. those aged 50+, people from various BME groups, schoolchildren) to those from “hard to reach” groups (e.g. people with mental health issues, people who have been a victim of a sexual offence, people who are transsexual).
