Les principaux objectifs du Bureau Permanent de l’Eglise Orthodoxe Roumaine auprès des institutions de l’Union Européenne :
- suivre et analiser l’activité des institutions européennes concernant des sujets qui pourraient intéresser directement l’Eglise Orthodoxe Roumaine ;
- assurer une communication efficace entre l’Eglise Orthodoxe Roumaine et les institutions de l'Union Européenne ;
- participer au dialogue et aux activités organisées au niveau européen pour promouvoir la solidarité spirituelle, religieuse et humanitaire;
- participer aux actions de mobilisations des Eglises européennes pour soutenir les valeurs chrétiennes dans le cadre du processus de consolidation institutionnelle de l’Union Européenne;
- développer des projets de recherche dans les domaines des sciences européennes, du partenariat interorthodoxe, œcuménique, interreligieux, interethnique et interculturel ;
- développer des projets d’analyse du phénomène de l’immigration et des conséquences de la sécularisation et de la mondialisation sur la société européenne ;
- organiser des activités pour la mise en valeur de la spiritualité orthodoxe ;
- développer des projets à caractère éducatif et culturel ;
- développer des projets à caractère social-caritatif
