Goals / remit of the organisation: • To promote, advise and educate on European integration, promotion of the single market, develop and consolidate a European identity

• To promote, peace, international cooperation and sustainable policies among nations and main actors in global governance.
• To develop and execute an annual european and global research programme and global sustainability agenda that focuses on the planet’s and humanity’s main challenges.
• To monitor and track these main challenges and globalisation’s progress towards sustainability.
• To advise and work with governments, corporations, academia, NGO’s and civil society on global futures, strategic vision and anticipatory governance towards sustainability.
• To provide practical frameworks to understand, clarify and solve key global issues

• To organise Summits and events to promote and gather support for our ideas, policies and our work.

Gold Mercury International is part of the U.N. Civil Society Network (CSO, which is coordinated by the NGO Branch, Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the United Nations. The web portal of this network is a platform where NGOs and UN entities may submit implemented best practices, request for development solutions, propose projects, publish news feeds, write articles, engage and moderate discussion groups and publish and manage events and meetings.

In addition, GMI is part of the United Nations Global Compact network, which is a policy initiative for businesses which are focused at promoting the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals, especially in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti corruption. As such, the Global Compact assists the private sector in the management of complex risks and the application of sustainable solutions.

Lastly, during 2010, we partnered with several organizations around the world in order to support the International Year of Biodiversity as declared by the United Nations in order to safeguard the variety of life on earth.
