L'association a pour objet la protection et la promotion de la diversité des expressions culturelle. L’association constitue l’organe européen de l’INCD (International Network for Cultural Diversity) organisation dont le siège est basé à Ottawa (Ontario, Canada).
L’association a pour objet de contribuer au débat public relatif à la protection et à la promotion de la diversité culturelle, notamment en Europe, en établissant des réseaux entre associations et organisations culturelles, en organisant des conférences et des événements. Elle assure également le contact avec les Institutions européennes (Conseil, Commission, Parlement européen) et les organisations internationales (UNESCO, ..)
Elle assure pour ses membres une activité de lobbying, d’information et de contact sur toute question en rapport avec la diversité culturelle.
