Glass for Europe's primary advocacy focus lies in the promotion of comprehensive strategies to support the uptake of energy efficiency technologies in the building and automotive sectors. In particular, it calls for: - prioritizing the renovation of the existing building stock - supporting the use of energy-efficient glass technologies - providing economic and fiscal incentives to consumers - introducing an energy labelling system for windows, - incentivising the use of solar-control laminated safety glass in automotive and transport applications, - etc.
Glass for Europe also promotes the highest safety and security standards at European level in building and transport glass. It wishes to safeguard a proper environment for the glass industry to invest in the EU and to market products thanks to sound environmental legislations and a robust and strong CE marking for glass products.
