Zentralverband für Falknerei, Greifvogelschutz und Greifvogelkunde
Die Falknerei hat in Österreich den Status eines immateriellen Kulturerbes der UNESCO.
Der ÖFB setzt sich seit 1950 für die langfristige Erhaltung der Falknerei in Österreich ein, wo die Falknerei eine über 1000 jährige Geschichte hat und ist Vorreiter in Sachen Greifvogelschutz, Ausbildung und falknerische Öffentlichkeitsarbeit.
Dies manifestiert sich vor allem in unserer Arbeit zur öffentlichen Bewusstseinsbildung in Sachen Greifvögel und deren Schutz, als auch in verschiedensten Zucht und Auswilderungsprogrammen, die der ÖFB selbst durchführt bzw. auf internationaler Ebene auch finanziell unterstützt.
Das Hauptziel ist den Auftrag der UNESCO entsprechend der Eintragung in die nationale Liste des immateriellen Kulturerbes zu erfüllen.
