Activities

Main EU initiatives covered the year before by activities falling under the scope of the Transparency Register:

Issues impacting member firms of PwCIL.

By way of example, in recent years, the interest representational activities of PwCIL have largely focused on aspects of the Statutory Audit Directive (Directive 2006/46/EC) and its implementation across the 27 EU member states. Our principal concern was to ensure that the Directive would help enhance the quality of audits and financial reporting for the benefit of the capital markets both within the EU and around the world.

Forward looking, we welcome the opportunity to reflect on the future role of the auditor, and how auditors can continue to serve the public interest and capital markets, bearing in mind that any measures should enhance the quality and relevance of audits.
