Other contact information: ACTIVE - Sobriety, Friendship and Peace is a European youth umbrella organization gathering more than 25 000 young people and more than 500 youth groups.
Founded in 1990, ACTIVE today has 32 member organization in 26 countries in Europe.
ACTIVE's work focuses on the seizing of the potential of young people and creating healthy, safe and encouraging environments, free from alcohol and other drugs.
Our activities represent non formal education methods, and through them we address topics relevant for young people in Europe such as democracy, human rights, social inclusion, youth advocacy and social participation.

Goals / remit of the organisation: Our vision is a democratic, diverse and peaceful world free from alcohol and other drugs where any individual can live up to her full potential.
The main activities of Active are trainings, intercultural learning and social activities. Active builds on international meetings, study sessions and workshops - educating it's members on topics such as democracy, human rights or alcohol. We believe that mutual understanding creates the base of equality and peace.
Our organization aims to foster the creation of more free, safe and inclusive environments for young people, to facilitate the capacity building of young people on various societal issues, and to advocate for better social conditions and opportunities for young people to be engaged, healthy and proactive citizens in the future.

Activities

Main EU initiatives covered the year before by activities falling under the scope of the Transparency Register:


The main aspects on our EU work in 2012 were focused on monitoring the health issues, together with the questions related to youth unemployment, social inclusion and initiatives in the field EU's funding programmes and developments. Of particular interest to us are the developments related to the EU Alcohol Strategy.
In addition to this, we have realized many meetings with MEPs, stakeholders and DG representatives, addressing the above-mentioned issues. Ultimately, we have attended various consultations, meetings,seminars and debates.
