airberlin ist die zweitgrößte Fluggesellschaft Deutschlands und die sechstgößte Fluggesellschaft in Europa. Das Unternehmen beschäftigt 8.900 Mitarbeiter. Allein 2010 erhielt airberlin mehr als 10 Auszeichnungen für Service und Qualität. Die Flotte umfasst 170 Flugzeuge mit einem Durchschnittsalter von fünf Jahren. Damit verfügt airberlin über eine der jüngsten Flotten in Europa mit einem Durchschnittsverbrauch von 3,5 l/100 Passagierkilometer. Als eine der wichtigsten Fluggesellschaften in Europa fliegt airberlin aktuell zu 163 Destinationen in 39 Ländern.
